Last summer in Glacier Park was a great success - wonderful experiences, intriguing guests, and lots of fish! The well televised fires and low waters had little to no effect on the cold glacial waters surrounding Glacier National Park. The region had a below average snow fall and early spring/summer temperatures which made the run-off quick and fast.
From a whitewater point-of-view, it was a short season. From a fly fishers, the season started early and allowed great access and fishing opportunities during the migration that are rarely available. As late summer and fall came the low waters stayed cold from the glaciers and springs. The waters slowed and we saw the depths up to 40ft. It was amazing seeing a trout rising 20ft from the bottom to take a large attractor and terrestrial patterns.
