There are many rivers here in Central Texas that are great for their fly fishing opportunities and impressive scenery all located within a short drive from both Austin and San Antonio. Following is a list of concentration:
Llano River
San Marcos River - (private access)
Lower Colorado River
Blanco River
and other local rivers and lakes! Especially Town Lake!
The Guadalupe River has become a truely unique trout fishery due to the hard work of the Texas Park & Wildlife and the Guadalupe Chapter of Trout Unlimited. I pursue trout year round and the Guadalupe has been a large drive for me to spend parts of the year in Central Texas.
We will be looking for Rainbows anywhere from 10 to 20 inches, and possibly a Brown Trout of similar size. These trout bring a great sport and challenge requring skills that are learned on the water. The trips can be either float or wade trips. The Guadalupe is a great place to hone your skills for your summer trout fishing excursions.
Hill Country Bass The clear spring fed rivers of Central Texas provide wonderful and unique bass fishing opportunity. Floating rivers like the Guadalupe, San Marcos, Llano - to name a few - enables you to make many casts and cover lots of water with many sight fishing opportunities. A wide variety of skills are used as you fish for Largemouth, Smallmouth, and Guadalupe Bass, along with a large variety of Sunfishes and Perch. An occasional shot at Gar, Catfish, and elusive Carp can always appear in a days fishing. I am privilaged to offer both public and private access on area rivers for a unique experience. These are great river trips fishing both moving and still waters, and always on rarely fished areas. Get ready!
